What I Do
Areas of Focus
I am a physicist, professor, and inventor in the field of quantum information. I apply rigorous methods to solve hard problems and discover underlying patterns, and I produce scientific papers year-round. My current work focuses on quantum entanglement and applying it to invent new break-through technologies. (See Bio)
Fundamental Research in Physics
Entanglement, Quantum Computation, Quantum State and Process Tomography, Quantum Optics, Mathematical Physics
Design and Prototyping of New Inventions
Quantum-Computational Hardware, Quantum Communications, Novel Quantum Devices, Quantum Algorithms & Error Correction
What is Physics?
Physics is the study of how everything in the universe behaves and making mathematical models to describe it. A major part of physics is predicting the future. For example, Newton's laws yield an object’s position at all times given external forces and initial conditions. But why bother? Because if we understand how the world works, we can do amazing things, such as build computers powerful enough to discover cancer-killing drugs, design new materials with special properties, or alleviate global warming. Physics is our key to the future.
